Students Mentoring and Counselling (SMC)

Students Mentoring and Counseling cell provides students with guidance, support and advice on a wide range of concerns like academic, personal, emotional, family, peer related and career related matters through counseling. Cell also offers psychosocial support for the students by appointed counselor to meet students, teachers and their parents as and when needed.The cell also hepls in inspiring students and developing confidence in them so that they can take on tough tasks and challenges in their lives.

Objectives and SOP of SMC

1. Academic Support: Assisting students in achieving their academic goals by providing guidance on study techniques, time management, and academic resources.

2. Personal Development: Supporting students in developing self-awareness, emotional intelligence, resilience, and interpersonal skills to navigate personal challenges and relationships effectively.

3. Mental Health Support: Providing a safe and confidential space for students to discuss mental health concerns, offering counseling services, and referring students to professional mental health resources when needed.

4. Conflict Resolution: Assisting students in resolving conflicts with peers, faculty, or staff members through mediation, communication techniques, and conflict resolution strategies.

5. Outreach and Awareness: Creating awareness about mental health issues, available resources, and support services through outreach programs, campaigns, and events to promote a healthy campus environment.

Overall, the mentoring and counseling cell aims to empower students to overcome challenges, maximize their potential, and thrive academically, personally, and professionally during their college journey.
