The Diploma of Architecture (D. Arch) program spans three years and is divided into six semesters. It holds approval from the Council of Architecture and is recognized by the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE). The curriculum aligns with the National Education Policy 2020, focusing on the holistic development of individuals by nurturing their social, physical, intellectual, emotional, and moral capabilities.
The first year establishes a strong foundational knowledge for students. Core subjects include mathematics, science, communication and graphical skills, fundamental design principles, history of architecture, and construction materials. To promote holistic development, the curriculum also incorporates social and life skills, alongside yoga and meditation practices.
The second year builds on this foundation by emphasizing technical knowledge and enhancing core design skills. Students engage with technical subjects such as surveying, building services, building construction, and structural theory. Additionally, a computer-aided drawing course ensures that students remain proficient with current technological tools. In Semester 3, students are introduced to fundamental aspects of the Constitution of India. By Semester 4, a wider array of elective subjects becomes available, allowing students to explore areas such as landscape architecture, housing, and disaster management.
The curriculum for the third year is currently being developed in accordance with guidelines provided by the Council of Architecture, as outlined by the syllabus framing committee of MSBTE.
This program is dedicated to fostering well-rounded architects who are not only technically proficient but also socially conscious and equipped for the challenges of modern architectural practices.
