World Stroke Day
World stroke Day was commemorated by extension students by carrying out Blood pressure camp followed by awareness at Abdullah Patel school, Mumbra. They have conducted camp for 50 people including parents and working staff of the school. They laid stress on benefits of good diet and exercise which can help prevent stroke. Also they elaborated on correlation between blood pressure and its implications on stroke.
National Pharmacy Education Day
General health was conducted at Fanaswadi Zill Parishad School which included BMI check up, blood glucose monitoring and lipid profile check up. The camp was conducted on the occasion of “ National pharmacy education Day” in collaboration of curewell laboratories. Students also distributed biscuits and energy drinks to the beneficiaries.
Bal-swasthya camp
A general paediatric camp was organised at Khanda colony to create awareness on regular health checkup camp amongst parents.This included weight, height ,temperature and resting heartbeat of the children. Students also distributed gifts to children. Students explained the importance of proper nutrition to parents with recognisition of nutritional deficiency from time to time.
Visit to Autistic centre for mentally challenged children
Our extention team has visited Dr Subhramanian Autistic centre 0n 1st February .It was a moving experience to see them living life with thankfulness and contentment.Students distributed colours,stationary kit and chocholates .They also organized a drawing and colouring activity with the children to make the moment special and memorable for the children.Despite their challenges ,their smile and positive energy was truly heartwarming.
Book Donation drive at orphanages
Extension students have visited Kamal Arnav Charitable trust as well as Our Lady of Visitation orphanage,Seawoods. During the visit ,students distributed essential items and goodies to the children.Donating books and gifts was a deeply gratifying experience.We are thankful to the organizations for their dedication in improving the lives of underprivileged children through various initiatives.
Tree plantation drive
Tree are man’s best friends for sustainability that makes planet Earth a better place to live. With this purpose, extension students have conducted tree plantation drive at Forest Colony, New Panvel and Charni Road areas. They have planted different species of trees in the areas along with the residents. They also explained the importance of trees which are the lungs of today’s urban cities. Different urbanization policies are leading to more and more deforestation which is ultimately affecting the environment.
