Description: The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC), School of Pharmacy, AIKTC organized a Faculty Orientation Programme on Start-Up, Incubation and Entrepreneurship Development on 04 September 2026. The programme was organized to create awareness among faculty members regarding the objectives and functioning of the EDC and to promote an innovation and entrepreneurship-oriented culture within the School.
Dr. Shariq Syed, Dean, School of Pharmacy, addressed the faculty members and highlighted the need and importance of establishing and strengthening the Entrepreneurship Development Cell. He emphasized the importance of encouraging innovation, entrepreneurial thinking and industry-oriented approaches among faculty and students, and creating opportunities to translate academic research into practical solutions.
Dr. Ziyaul Haque explained the vision, objectives and functioning of the EDC. He discussed the concepts of start-ups, incubation and entrepreneurship, along with opportunities for research commercialization, intellectual property, prototyping, industry collaboration and technology transfer. He also explained the potential role of faculty members and students in developing innovative ideas and taking them towards incubation and start-up development.
Prof. Abdulmajid Ansari delivered a session on grants, development and funding schemes. He highlighted various funding opportunities available to support research, innovation, prototype development and entrepreneurial initiatives. The session helped faculty members understand the importance of identifying appropriate funding avenues for converting innovative ideas and research outcomes into impactful projects.
The programme concluded with an interactive discussion on faculty participation, student involvement, mentoring, industry collaboration, funding opportunities and future activities of the EDC. The orientation successfully created awareness among faculty members and encouraged their active participation in building an innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem within the School of Pharmacy.
