Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC)
The Ministry of Education (MoE), through MoE’s Innovation Cell (MIC), launched the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) program in 2018 in collaboration with AICTE for Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs)
The aim was to cultivate innovation and start-up ecosystems within educational institutions systematically.
The IICs engage faculty, students, and staff in various innovation and entrepreneurship activities such as ideation, problem-solving, proof of concept development, design thinking, IPR, project management at pre-incubation/incubation stages, etc.
The IIC model is unique in its integration of flexible calendar activities, scoring and reward systems, decentralized operations, progress monitoring, and incentive mechanisms through a robust digital platform.
Objectives and SOP of IIC
a. To create a vibrant local innovation ecosystem.
b. Start-up supporting mechanism in HEIs.
c. Prepare institute for Atal Ranking of institutions on innovation achievements framework.
d. Establish function ecosystem for scouting ideas and pre-incubation of ideas. Develop better cognitive ability among students
